Style it up with Crown Molding

What a difference it makes when you add that bit of extra molding to the top of a wall or cabinets.  Costly?  Well, it just depends — how ‘champagne’ is your appetite!  Even a small amount of molding carries an impact that makes it worth the money and the effort.  Just one tip regarding ceilings:  get your ceiling as smooth as possible before adding crown molding.  Think carefully about drawing the eyes upward (and crown molding WILL do this) if your ceiling still needs some improvement.  That may mean disposing of the evil popcorn ceiling texture.  In older homes, it might require plaster repairs, or installing a new sheetrock ceiling on top of plaster.  Photos here show the results when it is done correctly.
